For DVI-D we have two type of converters, passive and active.
= Passive =
The passive converter only reroutes the wires, it does NOT convert the signal from digital to analog, this adapter only works if the receiving device supports digital signals.
= Active =
The active DVI to VGA converter (cable version) reroutes and converts signal from digital to analog.
This DVI to VGA converter supports all devices with DVI-D 24+1 port.
Support up to 1080P.

** Only can be used for converting from 24+1 DVI to VGA
** Does not support VGA convert to DVI
** We recommend the active converter if you are not sure the passive will work
